The village is built at an altitude of 450 metres. In Asites you can find Byzantine churches, as well as the remains of Roman baths. Nisi (2 km) - Near Kato Asites there is an abandoned settlement with traditional houses of architectural interest. Agios Myron (6 km) - Built between 2 hills you can enjoy panoramic views and some interesting chapels and stone fountains. Heraklion (20 km) - The capital of Crete and near the ruins at Knossos. The town offers a good choice of clubs, bars and restaurants, plus shops and taverns.
